Frequently Asked Questions

The following FAQs are provided for general informational purposes only. They are intended to give players a basic overview of the Cricket Australia National Club Risk Protection Program administered by Marsh - they are not insurance advice and should not be relied upon as such.

Cover details, conditions and exclusions may change from time to time. Players should consult Marsh's website directly for current and complete information, and direct any specific questions about their cover or a claim to Marsh.

  • Yes. All registered Kew CC players are covered under the Cricket Australia National Club Risk Protection Program, administered by Marsh. Cover applies to injuries sustained during official matches, training sessions, club functions, and travelling to and from those activities.

  • The program covers non-Medicare medical expenses - that is, costs that can't be claimed through Medicare. These include physiotherapy, chiropractic treatment, dental treatment, ambulance transport and private hospital accommodation. It is not private health insurance or life insurance.

  • By law, the program cannot cover any item listed on the Medicare Benefits Schedule. This means expenses such as doctor's fees, surgeon's fees, anaesthetist's fees, X-rays, MRI scans and public hospital costs are not covered. These may be claimable through Medicare or private health insurance.

  • There is a $50 excess per claim. The program reimburses 85% of eligible non-Medicare medical expenses, up to a maximum of $5,000 per claim (or $10,000 for dental claims). This means you may have out-of-pocket costs for the remaining 15%, any expenses above the cap, and anything not covered by the program.

  • Head to Marsh's claims page directly - the process depends on when the injury occurred and which policy applies. You can access it via the button to the left [to the left].

  • Marsh recommends that all players consider their own personal needs separately, including private health insurance, life insurance and ambulance subscription. The club's program is not a substitute for these.

  • Full details of the cover - including the Product Disclosure Statement and Policy Schedule - are available on Marsh's website. [Link to Marsh page]
